Who we are

Cenomi Retail, formally Fawaz Alhokair Fashion Retail Co., was formed by Fawaz, Salman and Abdulmajeed Alhokair. The company has since become the leading franchise retailer in the KSA and the only listed business of its type in the Middle East.

Since the opening of its first store in 1991, Cenomi Retail has grown considerably and now trades in over 1,650 stores across 100 shopping malls in 11 countries, with a retail platform operating on a total GLA of more than 450,000m2.

All of this is managed by a workforce numbering more than 11,000. Cenomi Retail currently represents over 89 brands across retail and F&B. In retail, we operate a wide and diversified portfolio in fashion - spanning from womenswear, menswear, kids and baby, shoes and accessories - beauty and cosmetics, multimedia, sports, variety stores.

In F&B, we operate a variety of international and homegrown brands in coffee shops, QSRs, and casual dining.

Senior Management

Dr Günther Helm

CEO
Dr Günther Helm brings two decades of global retail industry experience, joining Cenomi Retail as CEO in April 2023. He was previously CEO of Germany’s Müller Holding, the country’s largest multi-category retailer with 850 stores in seven countries, 35,000+ employees and a strong online retail presence. He began his professional retail career with Hofer KG, a subsidiary of the ALDI South Group in his native Austria, where he spent 16 years in leadership roles with HOFER KG and ALDI, the international arm of Germany’s Aldi Supermarket chain. Becoming CEO in 2015, he took charge of the company’s European business, entering new markets and delivering more than four billion Euros in revenue, responsible for 21,000+employees. Dr Helm holds a Doctoral study in law and a Degree in law from Johannes Kepler University Linz, Austria.

Ahmed Belbesy

Chief Financial Officer
Ahmed Belbesy is the Chief Financial Officer at Cenomi Retail since 2020. He leads the finance function across all operating countries where he is responsible for the brands’ financial performance and is pivotal in Cenomi Retail's transformation strategy. This includes inventory and supply chain optimization, and the implementation of a successful omnichannel strategy. He has over 15 years of retail experience in the region and a proven track record of leading retail companies through successful transformations and periods of significant growth. Throughout, Ahmed’s role encompassed brand finance, corporate finance, corporate governance and treasury. Prior to Cenomi Retail, Ahmed spent four years as CFO of Al Raya Foodstuff Company - a major food retailer based in Jeddah. Prior to that, he was the CFO of United Electronics Company – eXtra and had successfully accompanied the company on its way to becoming a publicly listed entity. Ahmed is a CMA, CFM, CIA, CTP and CAT and holds a bachelor's degree from Alexandria University.
